Owner
Joy is the founder and owner of Elabrew Coffee. Her mission in founding Elabrew was to create a specialty coffee experience that was approachable and fun, while serving exceptional brews in a city that is emerging with amazing specialty coffee establishments. When she’s not brewing up coffee at the shops or driving the Elabrew Truck around, you can find her in her the kitchen, concocting delicious dishes.
Art Director
Joerael is our Art Director, responsible for the expansive and intricate art installations at our shops, as well as the total redesign of our mobile coffee truck, the Elabrew Truck. His experiences growing up in the Southwest are readily apparent in much of the design work of our company. When not manning the coffee bar or in the studio, Joerael can be found teaching yoga classes, hiking, or traveling the states.
Communications Director
Amanda is our communications director. When she’s not updating the interwebs she’s taking photos of other things, pulling a barista shift a couple days a week, working on her zine, eating a lot of food, listening to too much James Blake, etc. etc. People often wonder why Amanda is so loveable, nice, adorable, down-to-earth, and never complains about the “cold.” Then they learn she’s from South Dakota, and it all makes sense.
Barista
Mikey (aka Magic Mike) is one of our baristas at Santa Monica, concocting magical brews, whether behind the espresso machine or the pourover bar. An ardent believer of life beyond earth, he’s well-equipped with evidence to prove the non-believing coffee drinkers otherwise.

Alex is one of our espresso-slinging baristas at our Hollywood cube. One of the quickest hands we’ve seen, Alex is a speed demon when it comes to pulling espresso shots and creating beautiful latte art. When he’s not at the coffee bar, you can usually find Alex speeding through the streets of Hollywood and Downtown LA on his fixed gear bike.
Barista
Alex is one of our baristas at our Santa Monica location. He’s an extremely personable individual who is intent on spreading the craft of specialty coffee. When not behind the bar, you can find Alex producing his own music or attending shows in or outside of the city. He also has great hair.
Barista
Heather is one of newest baristas, but don’t let that fool you because she has been doing coffee for the last 10 years. And she’s wonderful at it! Not only that but Heather has a warm and inviting personality that will put a smile on your face. She has a ton of followers on instagram and loves her dog to death. Like literally, she might die for her dog.
Design
Mark is our web designer and photographer. An artist and designer based in Los Angeles, he has had his works featured at the LA County Museum of Art and Los Angeles Philharmonic. Mark is co-curator and owner of the R&R Gallery in downtown LA.
